SHORE LIGHT IS ABOUT JESUS AND HIS GRACE

Shore Light is a family of believers—an unaffiliated, Bible-believing, Baptist church where Jesus is first, people are loved, and the gospel of grace is center stage. We are serious about God’s truth and Jesus’ mission. We love God and each other, we grow together in God’s word, and we seek to serve others with authentic grace and humility. OUR MISSION

The purpose of the church is summed up in the commission Christ gave His disciples just before He ascended to Heaven: “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen” (Matthew 28:18–20).

This last command of Christ should be our highest priority; every facet of church activity should in some way relate to this, the purpose of the church. Acts 5:42 records that the Jerusalem church was indeed fulfilling this purpose: “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” This young church was constantly engaged in making the Gospel known to the world.

At Shore Light Baptist Church, we have emphasized this purpose in our three-point mission statement:

God invites us to discover a personal relationship with Him. Beyond merely observing religious rituals, He seeks a meaningful relationship with us. Our weekend services are dedicated to helping your Find The Light of Christ. Whether you are new to faith, seeking answers, or have walked with Christ for years, our gatherings offer a guiding light to deepen your understanding of God and draw nearer to Him.

One of the ways God designed for us to follow the Light is to have people in our lives to walk alongside us on the journey. Joining Shore Light Connect Groups is a practical and enjoyable way to find a life-changing community that will encourage you to follow Jesus in your everyday life.

God's ultimate design for our lives is to make a difference by spreading the Light of Christ. The Bible tells us we will find joy in doing so. Our weekly Serve Teams and monthly outreach events help connect each person to opportunities to live out their calling, using their gifts to serve others in the church and bring the gospel to the community.

Ye are the light of the world. FAQ (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)

The music we sing at Shore Light is a balance of old and new. We love the doctrinally rich hymns of the sixteenth century and we find blessing in some of the modern hymns and choruses of the twenty-first. We strongly prefer congregational singing, which emphasizes the gathered body singing praise to God with one voice, over performed music, which tends to spotlight the abilities of some while encouraging passivity in the rest.

We provide a first-class nursery and childcare for your newborn or baby, where they will be kept safe and well supervised. We provide a tracking number for each child and parent during your visit here at Shore Light Baptist. Background checks are run on all of our nursery workers to ensure our children’s safety.

Shore Light exists to develop a thriving community of believers that is passionately reaching the world for Jesus Christ. We do this through our three fold purpose: of helping others Find The Light (Jesus), then Shining the Light of Christ by teaching his work and building community, and by Following the Light thru serving others. There is not a dress code at Shore Light for members or guests. Our ministry leaders and many of our church family dress in more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Lighthouse Baptist!
